Lutheran Bishop Donates To Ebola Survivors in Bong

GBARNGA, January 20 (LINA) - The Bishop of the Lutheran Church in Liberia has identified with Ebola survivors in the Phebe Community, Bong County.

About seven persons received US$40 each from the Liberian prelate.

The survivors are children of some of the nurses who died as a result of the Ebola Virus Disease.

Bishop Jensen Seyenkolo said the donation will help caregivers to attend to the fallen nurses’ children.

He said the donation is meant to remember the victims for the professional work they rendered to the Liberian people.

Bishop Seyenkolo said at present the Lutheran Church in Liberia is offering scholarships to the survivors.

Speaking on behalf of the Phebe Hospital, Administrator Kerson Saykor thanked the Lutheran Church for the donation and encouraged the church to do more for the victims.

Receiving the donations, the Ebola survivors lauded the church through Bishop Seyenkolo for identifying with them during this difficult period.
