Dewein Official Lauds Pres. Sirleaf For Support To Build Tech School

By David Pamas Seedee, LINA Bomi County Correspondent

TUBMANBURG, November 10 (LINA) -The Commissioner of Dewein District in Bomi County, Foley S. Siryon, has commended President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf for her support to the construction of a modern vocational technical school in the district.

Commissioner Siryon said the Government of Liberia through the county authority has made available US$400,000 from the County Development Fund (CDF) and Social Development Fund (SDF) to build the school.

Commissioner Siryon made the commendation in Jenneh # 3 Compound recently during a massive clean-up exercise of the site for the construction of the school.

He said when completed, the institution will provide basic skills training for youth of the county in masonry, carpentry, agriculture and computer science, among others, to prepare them for the job market.

He told the Liberia News Agency that the Project Management Committee (PMC) will shortly open a competitive bidding process for contractors wishing to implement the project to apply.

Meanwhile, Commissioner Siryon is appealing to citizens of the district to cooperate with the would-be contractors by providing food and accommodation to the workers for the smooth implementation of the project.

Over 100 citizens, including Chiefs, Elders, Youth and the Women groups, participated in the clean-up exercise.
