GBARNGA, November 9 (LINA) - Bong County Electoral District# 2 Representative Prince Moye has lauded the World Bank for constructing a modern high school in Seanzue, Bong County.

Representative Moye said the construction of the facility further demonstrates the commitment of government and development partners to ensuring quality education for school-going kids around the country.

The Bong County Representative said the World Bank’s investment in education, especially the construction of schools and technical support to Liberia’s educational development, will go down in the country’s history.

Speaking to the Liberia News Agency in Gbarnga recently, Representative Moye said the people of District #2 were grateful to the World Bank and implementing partners for the timely completion of the school facility.

He said prior to building the school, residents sent their children to other places to acquire secondary education, noting that this was hindering the district’s human resource development.

He described the facility as a breakthrough for the district and encouraged the citizens to send their children there to acquire quality high school education.

Representative Moye pledged his commitment to support the citizens in transforming the old school facility in the town to a mini-dormitory to enhance enrolment at the new school.

With funding from the World Bank and the Global Partnership for Basic Education, the Ministry of Education in March this year dedicated the over US$500,000 school facility in Seanzue, Electoral District #2.

The school facility is part of the World Bank’s US$40 million grant support to Liberia for the construction of 36 schools around the country.
