By Philip T. Singbah, LINA Bong County Correspondent

GBARNGA, November 4 (LINA) – United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) Force Commander, Major General Zaway Uba, has hailed members of the Ghanaian Contingent of the force for their contribution to Liberia's peace process.

Major General Uba said Ghanbatt 21 has demonstrated tireless devotion to duty and has made significant interventions since their arrival in Liberia in February and May this year.

He made the commendation recently during a Medal Parade for members of Ghanbatt 21 of the Ghanaian Contingent held at CARI in Suakoko District, Bong County.

Force Commander Uba said the Ghanaian contingent has over the months provided security protection for UNMIL trucks to reach their destinations across the country.

He pointed out that the Ghanaian Contingent also helped in monitoring illegal activities along the various border points of Liberia.

Meanwhile, the UNMIL official has hailed the Ghanaian Contingent for settling the long-standing dispute between the administration of Phebe Hospital and lepers at the Suakoko Leper Colony.
