Official Concerned About Lack of Town Hall
By D. Ignatius Roberts, Grand Cape Mount County Correspondent
ROBERTSPORT, March 3 (LINA) - The Commissioner of Beh Gondor Township in Gola Konneh Statutory District, Grand Cape Mount County, and Thomas Gonda, says the lack of a town hall is hampering the holding development meetings in the area.
He said because of the lack of a town hall in the township, citizens are finding it very difficult to convene meetings and hold programs that are intended to promote development, peace and reconciliation in the area.
Commissioner Gonda expressed the concern on Sunday in an interview with the Liberia News Agency Grand Cape Mount County correspondent.
He said, besides the town hall, there is no safe drinking water and modern latrine facilities, while roads leading to the township are in deplorable condition.
He explained that the township has been disconnected from the rest of the county, due to lack of the communication networks of GSM companies operating in the county.
He told LINA that many of the bridges in the area have also been damaged and are yet to be rehabilitated by government and NGOs operating in the county.
