Fire Service, BCC Hold Fire Prevention Awareness

BUCHANAN, October 28 (LINA) -The National Fire Service Grand Bassa County branch in partnership with the Buchanan City Corporation (BCC) has held a one-day fire prevention awareness campaign in Buchanan City.

Participants at the program were taught how to use the fire extinguisher, prevent fire outbreaks as well as techniques to apply by occupants of buildings or homes during fire outbreaks.

Speaking at the close of the program, Buchanan City Mayor Julia K. Bono lauded the officers of the National Fire Service for embarking on such an important venture, and urged participants to implement what they were taught during fire outbreaks.

She admonished citizens of the county to hold together and to give all the necessary support to the National Fire Service to enable it acquire equipment that will help them fight fire outbreaks.

In remarks, the participants thanked the Fire Service and Buchanan City Corporation for the exposure and promised to teach others in their communities what they have learned.

The participants were drawn from schools, communities and civil society organizations across the county.
