IFES Conducts Mid-Term Evaluation Of CSOs
By Ballah Kollie, Bong County Correspondent

GBARNGA, March 3 (LINA) - The International Foundation for Electoral System (IFES), has held a mid-term evaluation of civil society and other groups that conducted the civic and voters' education, in support of the voter role update currently taking place across the county.

Speaking to the Liberia News Agency Saturday following the close of the session, which was held at the Women Center in Gbarnga, Bong
County, and IFES Program Manager, Mr. Senesee Freeman, said the evaluation of their implementing partners seeks to assess their performance and review of the level of work done, and whether their reporting system meets the standards of IFES.

He thanked USAID for supporting their grassroots program which, he said, has enabled IFES to provide grants to 43 CSOs and disability groups, now creating awareness on the voter role update of the National Elections Commission (NEC).

According to Mr. Freeman, the involvement of the disabled groups is to
provoke the emotion of their peers to get involved in the process noting, "These people have long been marginalized during electoral processes and this is our way of resurrecting them."

The evaluation and review exercise of IFES brought together 86
participants from all 90 magisterial areas of NEC, all of whom came from 28 CSOs and 15 disability groups across the 15 political sub-divisions of the country.
