Activist Urges Fast-Track Probe Into Illegal Border Land Dispute
By Chris Nyenapee, LINA Grand Gedeh County Correspondent

ZWEDRU, October 20 (LINA) - An activist in Grand Gedeh County, Mr. Randall Saydee, has called on the Ministry of Justice to speed up investigation into the alleged border land dispute involving six officials of the county to allay fear among citizens.

Saydee hoped the result of the investigation will expose those who were involved in the border land dispute regardless of their status in the society, especially now that the country is about to take over security of its borders.

Making the call in an interview with the Liberia News Agency in Zwedru Monday, Saydee noted that that those who are linked to the illegal sale of land in Dougee Town, Bhai Administrative District in Grand Gedeh, which is close to the Ivorian/Liberian border, should be exposed.

Grand Gedeh County Superintendent Peter Solo last week announced the suspension of six local officials, mostly from Bhai/Gbao Administrative Districts, for their alleged involvement in the illegal land sale.

They have reportedly been transferred to Monrovia for further investigation.
