Robertsport High Temporarily Suspends Classes
By D. Ignatius Roberts, LINA Grand Cape Mount County Correspondent

ROBERTSPORT, October 20 (LINA) -The Administration of the Robertsport High School in Robertsport City, Grand Cape Mount County has suspended classes to ensure that issues surrounding the recent demonstration by students are addressed.

Making the disclosure to the Liberia News Agency Tuesday, Principal Musu K. Dennis said she was instructed by County Education Officer (CEO) Dwight Harvey to suspend classes to avoid destruction of the school’s properties.

Dennis revealed that representatives of the school, Ministry of Education, County Education office and prominent citizens are expected to hold a meeting this week to amicably address the situation so that the students can resume normal classes.

She, however, expressed dissatisfaction over the action of the students during which a Nigerian teacher, Ezenor Hudson Nurdukoru, was flogged and his phone taken away by the demonstrators.

Madam Dennis also disclosed that during Monday’s incident, the home of Cerue Taylor, Commonwealth District Education Officer (DEO), was attacked by some of the demonstrators who threw stones and other objects at the building, destroying the roof and window panes.

She cautioned the students to do away with violence which has the propensity to deny them the opportunity of acquiring quality education to make them useful citizens and prepared future leaders.
