LMA Wants Gbarnga Market Facility Completed

GBARNGA, October 18 (LINA) - The General Superintendent of the Liberia Marketing Association (LMA) is appealing to the Sirleaf Market Women Organization to complete the new market facility in Gbarnga.

In 2013, the Sirleaf Market Women, a non-governmental organization, embarked on the construction of a new facility worth over US$900,000 for the Gbarnga General Market, but the project is yet to be completed one year later.

Madam Viola Cooper said the LMA was finding it difficult to maintain the number of marketers at the old facility and wants the new one completed to alleviate the constraints.

She complained that the current Gbarnga Central market is on private land and the continued payment of rental fees was holding back the LMA in undertaking most of its projects to benefit members.

Madam Cooper, however, praised the leadership of the Bong County for the renovation of a warehouse on the compound of the new market facility and urged them to get involving in ensuring the completion of the market facility.
