Journalists Urged To Eschew Bias Reporting
By D. Ignatius Roberts, LINA Grand Cape Mount County Corrrespondent

ROBERTSPORT, October 16 (LINA) - Grand Cape Mount County Agriculture Coordinator Edmond Greaves has cautioned Liberian journalists to refrain from biased and fabricated reporting that have the propensity to create disunity in society.

He said the promotion of peace, unity and development are the hallmarks of good reporting.

Greaves gave the warning in Robertsport Thursday when he donated two tape recorders to Radio Cape Mount in Garwula District and Radio Piso in Robertsport, Commonwealth District.

He said rebuilding Liberia in the aftermath of 14 years of civil conflict cannot be totally achieved in the absence of the mass media.

The Ministry of Agriculture official said maintaining lasting peace in any society requires balanced, accurate and unbiased reporting by journalists.

Receiving to the donation, the Station Manager of Radio Cape Mount, Andrew Masselley and the Station Manager of Radio Piso, Barhel Kiawu, thanked Greaves for the gesture and assured that the items would be used to serve the Liberian people.
