Gedeh Allots US$3m For Projects
By Chris T. Nyenapee, LINA Grand Gedeh County Correspondent

ZWEDRU, October 15 (LINA) -The County Steering Development Council (CSDC) of Grand Gedeh County has allotted from the Social Development Fund (SDF) US$3.1 million to implement contracts approved by CSDC.

The SDF generates money from corporate social responsibility contributions from concessionaires operating in the county annually.

Contracts approved during the council’s last sitting in April this year, according to Development Superintendent Abraham T. Gbeway, are the construction of farm-to-market roads, rehabilitation of alleys and streets in Zwedru City, among others.

Gbeway told the Liberia News Agency Tuesday in Zwedru that the Council has already begun advertising the road construction contracts in keeping with the Public Procurement and Concessions Commission (PPCC) Law.

He indicated that the advertisements will be posted on public buildings in Zwedru and district and paramount chiefs compounds for 30 days followed by a vetting process.

He said following the selection of contractors, the council will place the next batch of advertisements on all market buildings in the administrative headquarters.
