CSI On “Recovery Together From Community Forum” Project
By Gabriel T. Bundor, LINA Lofa County Intern Correspondent

VOINJAMA, October 14 (LINA) -The Community Safety Initiative (CSI) has commenced implementation of the “Recovery Together from Community Forum Project” in Lofa County.

The Project, a community-based initiative which is expected to run from October and November this year, is aimed at resuscitating three badly Ebola-hit communities in Lofa.

The communities are Zangos Town in Voinjama District, Barkedu in Quadu Gboni District and Foya Tengia in Foya Statutory District.

Speaking to LINA in Voinjama recently, CSI Executive Director Samuka Sannoh said the objective of the project is to also reduce the level of stigmatization against Ebola survivors and orphans.

During the first phase of the forum held in Zangos Town, over 50 survivors, orphans and community leaders from Balagbalasu and Letisu Towns agreed to construct a monument in Zangos Town to memorialize those who died of the Ebola Virus Disease.

Sannoh explained that the project is being sponsored by the International Research and Exchanges Board (IREX), U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and Search for Common Ground.
