By Gabriel T. Bundor, LINA Lofa County Intern

VOINJAMA, October 14 (LINA) - The Edmond K. Johnson Educational Foundation has begun the distribution of over 1,000 books to schools in Voinjama District, Lofa County.

In an interview with the Liberia News Agency (LINA) in Voinjama recently, founder Edmond K. Johnson said the gesture is aimed at buttressing efforts to meet the educational needs of school administrators, teachers and students.

He said the foundation was established in the county in 2009 to help less fortunate citizens acquire education.

Johnson put the value of scholarships the foundation has provided to less fortunate students so far at L$250,000.

He pledged the foundation will also give L$10,000 to the chairpersons of the Voinjama District Parent Teacher Associations (PTAs) as compensation for their services over the years.
