ROBERTSPORT, March 2 (LINA) -The administration of Grand Cape Mount County has expressed dissatisfaction over the slow pace of construction work on two clinics being implemented by the management of East International Group.
This was disclosed by Assistant Superintendent for Development of the county, Tenneh S. Kpedebah, in an interview with the Liberia News Agency correspondent during an inspection of the projects.
She explained that the company got the contract because it won the bid for the two projects, and was paid 40 percent of the cost of the two projects during the signing of the contracts.
“But we are wondering why nothing has been done”, she said.
She said the leadership of the county will not hesitate to deal with any construction company that fails to abide by the terms of the agreement signed with them.
Superintendent Kpedebah has meanwhile appealed to all companies that have been awarded construction contracts to involve locals in their implementation, as a means of empowering them to improve their living conditions.
However, during the inspection of the projects, no executive of the company was available to comment, while the workers on the ground refused to talk to LINA.
Madam Kpedebah told LINA that the management of the company was officially informed about the tour and asked to be present.
