6 Firms Bid To Pave Gbarnga

GBARNGA, October 12 (LINA) -Six companies have tendered bids to pave the 10.6 kilometer road in Gbarnga, provincial capital of Bong County, and its environs.

Companies that participated in the bidding process held over the weekend in the Gbarnga Administrative Building were MDMC, China-Liberia, CICO, East Construction Company, Qing Jian International and CHICO.

However, representatives from the China-Liberia Company did not turnout for the bid opening ceremony nor did they give reasons for their absence.

The bids were submitted to an independent committee for evaluation after which the winner will be announced within eight days as of October 9.

The ceremony was attended by officials of the county, including Superintendent Selena Polson Mappy, Assistant Superintendent for Development Anthony Sheriff, Bong County Resident Engineer Emulous Toliver, members of the Project Management Committee, civil society actors as well as officials of five of the six biding companies.
