Growing Crime Rate Worries Klay Commissioner
By David Pamas Seedee, Bomi County Correspondent

TUBMANBURG, October 12 (LINA) -The Commissioner of Klay District in Bomi County, Alfred Zinnah, has expressed concern over the increasing wave of criminal activities in the district.

Commissioner Zinnah said for the past two months citizens have been living in fear because of the daily commission of various kinds of crime in the area.

In an interview with the Liberia News Agency over the weekend in Tubmanburg, Commissioner Zinnah said the Klay District Guest House in Klay Town has been broken into by criminals on two occasions.

He said the criminals made away with chairs and other furniture, mattresses, bed sheets and pillows, among other items. He said security agencies in the district have been informed but no arrest has been made so far.

It can be recalled that on October 3, 2015 in the Banana Compound Community, a 21-year-old man identified as Constance Nyumah, was arrested and charged by Police for intentionally, criminally and illegally burglarizing the Bahai Center in Tubmanburg.

Defendant Nyumah is said to have made away with one mixer, two microphones, a piano, two pairs of rain boots and four chairs. The Center put the total cost of the stolen items at US$560.
