President Sirleaf Dismisses Seven Appointed Officials; Accepts Resignation of Foreign Minister

MONROVIA, October 10 (LINA)- President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has accepted the resignation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan, who tendered  his resignation recently.

Among other decisions, the Liberian leader has relieved Mr. Morris Dukuly of his post as Internal Affairs Minister and suspended indefinitely the Deputy Minister of Justice for Economic Affairs, Cllr. Emmanuel Tulay.

According to an Executive Mansion release, the Liberian leader has, in keeping with Article 56 (a) of the Constitution, also relieved the following persons of their positions:

They include: the Chief of Protocol, Republic of Liberia, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Rufus Neufville; Assistant Minister for Land & Rail Transport, Ministry of Transport, Mr. Abu Kamara; Assistant Minister for Public Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr. Horatio Willie; and the Asst. Minister for Administration, Ministry of Post & Telecommunication, Ms. Margretta General-Smith.

Also relieved of their posts are: Mr. Willard Russell, Member of the Board of Directors, Liberia Maritime Authority and Rev. Emmanuel Bowier, Member of the Board of Directors, National Port Authority, according to the release.
