TUBMANBURG, October 5 (LINA)-Bong County authorities have allocated US$40,000 for the construction of a multilateral high school in Jenneh #3 Compound in Dewein District.
The Commissioner of Dewein District, Folley Siryon, told the Liberia News Agency in an interview recently that the money was taken from the County and Social Development Funds.
Siryon indicated that the County Legislative Caucus and the County Administration took the decision to ensure that students of the district have access to secondary education.
He noted that the late President Samuel K. Doe started constructing the school on the compound in the late 1980s, but was interrupted by the 14-year-civil war in the country.
According to Siryon, members of the County Legislative Caucus and the County Administration met early last month and resolved to complete the school to enable students who cannot afford to go to Tubmanburg or Monrovia to pursue secondary education acquire high school education upon completion of primary school.
