Rivercess Senator Promises 50 Arm Chairs For Newly-Built High School In Bong County
By Ballah M. Kollie, LINA
MONROVIA, October 5 (LINA) – Rivercess County Senator Francis Paye has promised to provide 50 arm chairs to the newly dedicated Kerkula Giddings High School in Sanoyea, Bong County as his contribution to the school.
The senator made the pledge in his remarks at the dedication of the newly constructed high school under the auspices of Bong County Senator Jewel Howard-Taylor in Sanoyea recently.
Paye indicated that Senator Howard-Taylor’s initiative is one of many reasons why citizens “walked from far and wide” to remote parts of the country and had them elected during the election period.
He added: “Unlike those lawmakers who abandon their electorates, their daughter has succeeded in providing unborn generations the means of empowerment by completing the district’s first high school.”
Paye then extoled House Speaker J. Alex Tyler for his vision in introducing the legislative project for members of the National Legislature which, according to him, enables lawmakers to collaboratively carry on development in their respective counties and districts.
He also praised President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf and Finance and Development Planning Minister Amara Konneh for supporting lawmakers on the inclusion of legislative projects in the national budget.
Paye has meanwhile presented an undisclosed amount to the family of the first Principal of the Sanoyea Public School, the late Peter Hamilton, who authored the translation of the Kpelleh vernacular into English.
