By Wellington G. Patrick, LINA Nimba County Correspondent

SANNIQUELLIE, October 2 (LINA) - Nimba County Superintendent Fong Zuagele has condemned the vandalism, looting and mob violence exhibited by some citizens and residents of Ganta on Wednesday.

Speaking to a team of journalists in Ganta Thursday, Zuagele said no citizen or group of Liberians are permitted under the Constitution to use mob justice as a means of registering their disagreement over a situation.

On Wednesday, some angry citizens and residents of Ganta, most of whom are  believed to be motorcyclists, out of anger over the death of a motorcyclist who was allegedly murdered for ritualistic purpose, destroyed properties and killed an unidentified man during a demonstration.

He called on citizens of the county to always exercise restraint and to learn to channel their dissatisfaction properly.

Meanwhile, Superintendent Zuagele has assured that all is being done to arrest and prosecute those involved in the mob violence.

On Wednesday morning, angry rioters took to the streets for hours and vandalized, burned and looted homes, business centers and thousands of United States dollars.

The violence started when an unidentified motorcyclist, believed to be in his early 20s was found dead early Wednesday’s morning on the Ganta United Methodist High School sports pitch in Bligaye Town Community, in Ganta City, Nimba County.
