ZWEDRU, Feb 28 (LINA) -The British Ambassador to Liberia, Mr. Fergus Cochrane-Dyet has promised the Zwedru City Council the embassy’s cooperation in seeking sister city relationship with cities in Great Britain.
The British envoy’s pledge was predicated upon an appeal by officials of the Zwedru City Council to help forge sister-city relationship with any city in Great Britain.
Ambassador Cochrane-Dyet gave the assurance at the end of a one-day assessment visit to Grand Gedeh County to familiarize himself with developments there.
The British envoy was given a warm welcome by a greeting party of county officials headed by Grand Gedeh Superintendent Peter L. Solo as well as representatives of UN agencies operating in the county and others.
Ambassador Cochrane-Dyet, who was guided on a tour of places of interest, including the Ivorian Refugee camp located about 11 km from Zwedru City, later held a closed-door meeting with county officials before departing Zwedru.
