By Chris T. Nyenapee, Grand Gedeh County Correspondent

ZWEDRU, September 25 (LINA)-The Independent National Commission on Human Rights (INCHR) is holding a two-day consultative meeting with linguistic groups from six counties in Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County to provide a platform for conflict resolution in Liberia.

The meeting which kicked off Friday, is being attended by the Kwa speaking people from Grand Bassa, Grand Gedeh, Grand Kru, Maryland, Rivercess, River Gee and Sinoe Counties.

The Chairman of INCHR, Gladys Johnson, told the Liberia News Agency that participants were drawn from chiefs, elders, women and youth backgrounds to have an understanding of the decision-making process under the Palava Hut and come up with suggestions.

Johnson noted that participants will come up with a time-frame after writing a book on the Palava Hut process which will be used as a tool  for discussions on people affected by the Liberian civil crisis as well as current problems requiring peaceful resolution in the traditional setting.

The INHCR Chair assured that findings from the meeting will be used to help resolve conflicts amongst traditional people.
