By Philip T. Singbah LINA, Bong County Correspondent

GBARNGA, September  25  (LINA) -The Caretaker of  14 children whose parents died from the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in the Civil Compound Community in Gbarnga, Bong County, is appealing to the government and people of goodwill to assist her provide care for the children.

In an interview with the Liberia News Agency recently, Esther Flomo said life has been tough for the children since the death of their parents, adding “they have no clothes and access to medication.”

Flomo said she was constrained to take responsibility for them as a neighbor of their late parents because of their condition and the lack of support.

She said although the World Food Program (WFP) has been helping them with a bag of rice, 20 cups of beans and a gallon of Argo oil every month, the education of the children is paramount.

She explained that the children’s classes range from Nursery to Grade two and lamented that none of them is currently in school.

Flomo is at the same time appealing to institutions involved in post-Ebola related activities as well as philanthropists to help.
