House Passes Acts Creating Two Townships In Foya District
By Hilary Vasco Wiagbe

MONROVIA, Sept. 25 (LINA)-The House of Representatives on Thursday passed two separate Acts creating two new townships in Foya Statutory District in Lofa County.

The Lower House passed the Acts during the 7th Day Sitting of its Extraordinary Session after the Joint Committee comprising Judiciary, Internal Affairs, Ways, Means and Finance Committees submitted its report to Plenary following two weeks of review.

The Townships are Lemgbamba and Sorlormba, each of which has a populations of 27, 000, according to the report.

Plenary has meanwhile asked Chief Clerk Mildred Wisseh to forward the two Acts to the Liberian Senate for concurrence.

If the upper house concurs with the lower house in the passage of the Acts, they would be sent to President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf for her signature. If she signs them, the acts  will be printed into Handbills before becoming law.
