SAPEC To Commence Full Operation In Gedeh
By Chris Nyenapee, LINA Grand Gedeh County Correspondent

ZWEDRU, September 22 (LINA) - Grand Gedeh County Agriculture Coordinator Alex Mulbah has revealed plans for the Smallholder Agriculture Productivity and Commercialization Project (SAPEC) to commence full operation in the county.

According to Mulbah, the SAPEC project will engage in lowland farming to produce rice and vegetables and will first target communities where the Agriculture Sector Rehabilitation Project (ASRP) could not reach.

Mulbah made the disclosure to the Liberia News Agency when he called on newly-assigned SAPEC field agents during a field visit to project areas to get firsthand information they need from the residents.

He said the meetings with the locals during the tour have afforded the SAPEC team an opportunity to know what the locals expect from the project which is expected to start on September 30, 2015.

Sites visited were Zwedru Swamp I and II, Douyee Town, Beezon and Tuglor, among others, in Tchien and Konobo Districts.
