Street Gasoline Vendors In Lofa Given One Month Ultimatum To Stop
By Korboi K. Gbelewala, LINA Lofa County Correspondent

VOINJAMA, September 21 (LINA) –The Liberia National Fire Service (LNFS) Lofa County detachment has given a one month ultimatum to street vendors of gasoline in Lofa County to stop or face the law.

LNSF County Commander Major Tarnue  Baysah told the Liberia News Agency in Voinjama over the weekend that the sale of gasoline in bottles poses “very serious risk” to citizens, a situation the Fire Service was trying to avoid.

According to Baysah, officers of the LNFS will begin implementing the mandate across the county and will end on October 15.

He observed that the random sale of gasoline on major streets and the lack of basic equipment to store the gasoline have made it difficult for the LNFS to adequately tackle fire outbreaks in the county.

Meanwhile, the Lofa County LNFS official has cited the lack of fire service station, fire engines and other equipment, as major challenges confronting the institution in combating fire outbreaks in the county.
