Senator Wesseh Wants River Gee Citizens Build At Home
By Robert Dixon, LINA
MONROVIA September 19 (LINA) - Rivers Gee County Senator Conmany Wesseh has called on citizens of the county to consider building houses to boost development as the county prepares to co- host the July 26, 2016 Independence Day celebrations.
Senator Wesseh made the statement over the weekend in Sinkor when he was honored by a River Gee women group based in Monrovia called “Potupo Women Development Association.”
He said the appeal was made against the backdrop that River Gee County has not many residences to host the number of guests that will go to the county for the 2016 Independence Day festivities.
He noted that the notion people have about the county is that it has no place to host the guests, believing that most of the activities will be held outside the county owing to that.
“But if we as citizens begin building more houses, it will help to develop the county and ensure the successful hosting of our independence celebration,” he added.
It can be recall that the Liberia leader declared that three southeastern counties - Grand Gedeh, Maryland and River Gee - will co-host the country’s 169th independence activities.
The three counties will bring the number to 14 of all the counties that have hosted the independence celebration since the ascendency to power of the Unity Party-led government in 2006.
The new team of clustered counties to host the celebration will become the second since Bomi, Grand Cape Mount and Gbarpolu Counties were combined to host the 2013 independence festivities.
