MoE Renovates Schools in Bomi County

TUBMANBURG, September 17 (LINA) – The Ministry of Education (MoE) has begun renovation of schools in Bomi County as part of its education reform process geared towards improving the country’s educational sector.

Making the disclosure in an interview with the Liberia News Agencyin Tubmanburg recently, Bomi County Education Officer (CEO) J. Seo Davis named schools benefiting from the exercise as the Bomi Junior High School, Sass Town High School and Gertrude Yancy High School, amongst others.

Davis, did not give the cost of the exercise or when it is expected to end, but said that the second phase of the renovation of other schools in the county is expected to begin shortly.

He noted that the Ministry of Education has earmarked 33 schools across the county to benefit from the renovation exercise.

In a related development, the Bomi County Education Officer has also disclosed plans by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to distribute books and other educational materials to schools across the county.

He said UNICEF will distribute the text books, exercise books, pens, pencils, book bags and lesson plan books, among others, to 142 public and private schools across Bomi County.
