UNICEF Donates To Maryland School System
By John N. Bropleh, LINA Maryland County Correspondent

HARPER, September 8 (LINA)  - The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has donated a consignment of instructional materials to the Maryland County School System.

The materials worth several thousand United States dollars are intended to benefit over 188 schools across the county.

This was disclosed to the Liberia News Agency in Harper recently by the Director of Early Childhood Education at the Ministry of Education, Tehnesed Broh Donyen, at the close of a six-day training workshop sponsored by UNICEF.

Donyen said the donation by UNICEF is in support of the government’s new education reform program.

The materials include posters, chalk, pens, copybooks and handouts on psychology, first aid and pedagogy.

Mr. Donyen who was one of the facilitators, called on school administrators to make maximum use of the materials and to also pass on the knowledge acquired at the workshop on to their teachers.
