Prexy Hopeful Of Timely Completion Of Bong College
By Philip T. Singbah, LINA Bong County Correspondent

GBARNGA, September 7 (LINA) - The president of the Bong County Technical College (BCTC), Dr. John Flomo, has lauded efforts leading to the recommencement of construction work on the college's facility in Gbarnga.

Work on the BCTC facility came to a standstill nearly two years ago but recommenced last week following several discussions and protests by citizens, mostly students in Gbarnga over the delay in completing the facility.

Dr. Flomo told a news conference in Gbarnga recently that he is grateful to the Ministry of Public Works, Bong County Legislative Caucus, County Administration and ordinary residents for their support in ensuring the completion of construction work on the college.

He hoped that the first floor of the building will be completed within three months so that some of the students and equipment will be transferred from the William V.S. Tubman Grey High School where the college is currently operating.

“We have laboratory equipment but cannot set them up due to the lack of adequate space at our current facility and adequate security presence to ensure that these equipment are safe,” Dr. Flomo said.

Meanwhile, the BCTC president is encouraging citizens to continue to monitor the project and to provide the necessary support to the contractors in whatever way possible to ensure that the project is completed on the targeted date.
