Bomi Formulates County Security Council
By David Pamas Seedee, LINA Bomi County Correspondent

TUBMANBURG, September 7 (LINA) -Bomi County has formulated a County Security Council, according to Superintendent Samuel Folley Brown.

Brown said the Council comprises 25 institutions, including civil society organizations, farmers, hunters, women groups, the Superintendent’s Office, Districts Commissioners and agencies of line ministries in the county.

Speaking to reporters over the weekend, Superintendent Brown said the formulation of the council is intended to empower citizens to take control of security in collaboration with government security agencies in the county.

He said security councils are also expected to be formulated at the district level as UNMIL’s withdrawal from the county approaches. He did not say how soon formulation of the district security councils will start.

Brown said plans are to empower the farmers and the hunters who are always in the bush to monitor activities there.
