PUP Launches "Support Rally" In Bong
By Philip T. Singbah, LINA Bong County Correspondent

GBARNGA, September 7 (LINA) – Stalwarts of the People's Unification Party (PUP), one of the newest political parties on the Liberian political landscape, have officially launched the party to the people of Bong County to solicit their support.

A march through the principal streets of Gbarnga to mark the start of the ceremony attracted a huge crowd from the party’s headquarters in the Civil Compound Community that sang, danced and chanted political slogans.

The PUP march was peaceful as the Liberia National Police put in place security measures to ease traffic congestion and ensure a smooth march through the streets without problem.

The party’s Governing Council Chairman Senator Henry Yallah and his council members, including Representatives Emmanuel Nuquay, Edward Karfiah, Togbah Mulbah, Prince Moye, George Mulbah and other top officials of the party, led the march over the weekend.

Speaking at the official program, Yallah urged citizens and residents of the county to join the PUP in its effort to unite Liberians to speak with one voice during and after the 2017 General Elections.

“Today, as we launch PUP in Bong County, we are encouraging you to support our ideology in all sectors of your respective communities,” Senator Yallah told the crowd.

For his part, Representative Nuquay said one major objective of the party is to keep alive the dream of the late founding father of the party, William Gabriel Kpolleh which was geared towards uniting the people of Liberia.
