ZWEDRU, September 6 (LINA) -The Town Chief of Boe Township, a border town in Niao Chiefdom, Grand Gedeh County, is calling for the construction of a public school to educate the youths of the township.
Chief Gaye Nah told the Liberia News Agency in an interview over the weekend that there are more than 250 young people of school-going age residing in the township.
He indicated that because the township has no school, most parents have no alternative but to send their children to schools in distant neighboring towns.
“This is creating and adding more to the illiteracy problem that the government is trying to abolish in the country,” he added.
Nah stressed that the lack of school in the face of a growing population needs to be considered, vowing that his administration “is all out to achieve this goal with relevant authorities.”
