ROBERTSPORT, September 4 (LINA) - A 44-year-old Sierra Leonean woman, Sarah Cooper, has been arrested with 10 kilograms of marijuana valued at L$115,000  in Grand Cape Mount County.

The Commander of the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) detachment, Octavius Manneh, told the Liberia News Agency that the lady was arrested at York Island checkpoint in Tewor District recently en route to Monrovia.

He explained that the drug was contained in a bag of cassava product (gari) that she was taking to Monrovia.

Manneh said the woman came from a village called Manakpandeh in Sierra Leone and used the York Island crossing point to enter Liberia.

Commander Manneh said following investigation, the woman was sent to the Tienii Magisterial Court for prosecution.
