FRTUL Ends Training In Bong

By Philip T. Singbah, LINA Bong County Correspondent

GBARNGA, August 31 (LINA) -The Bong County chapter of the Federation of Road Transport Unions of Liberia (FRTUL) has ended a one-day capacity-building workshop for its members in Gbarnga, Bong County.

FRTUL Bong County president George Flomo told the Liberia News Agency that the workshop was part of efforts by the leadership to acquaint its members with the Union's constitution as well as the Code of Conduct for drivers.

Flomo noted that the forum was also in fulfillment of his campaign promise to improve the welfare of members through capacity-building.

He said the Transport Union is providing public service and as such it is important for its members, especially drivers, to know how to cultivate a cordial relationship with passengers and the general public.

In separate interviews with LINA, several drivers described the workshop as an ‘eye opener’, noting that after many years of membership in the Union, they were seeing its Constitution for the first time.
