MOE Official Challenges Youth To Develop Their Capacity
By Calvin Brooks

MONROVIA, August 31(LINA) -The Assistant Minister for Early Childhood Education at the Ministry of Education has challenged Liberian youths to develop their capacity through education.

According to Felicia Doe-Somah, education is the foundation on which young Liberians can develop their potential and contribute towards the socio-economic development of their country.

Assistant Minister Doe-Somah was speaking at the launch of a scholarship fund by the Montserrado County Youth Council for District Number Five at the weekend in Paynesville, outside Monrovia.

She admonished youths who benefit from the scholarships to remain focused on their studies to build their competence and contribute to the rebuilding of their country.

In remarks, the Chairman of the Montserrado County Youth Council Scholarship Committee, Enoch P. Kangar, said the scholarships are intended to assist needy students in District Number Five to further their education both in the academic and vocational fields.

Kangar noted that as a result of the Ebola crisis, several parents cannot afford to send their children to school.
