BIN To Intensify Security Measures At Borders In River Gee
By Justice C. Gaddeh, LINA River Gee County Correspondent

FISH TOWN, August 25 (LINA) - The Commander of the Bureau of Immigration and Naturalization (BIN) in River Gee County has disclosed plans by the bureau to intensify patrols at border points in the county as well as community engagements.

James Wa-Sieh told the Liberia News Agency in Fish Town Monday that the community engagement is intended to sensitize the public about the BIN Best Practices and Crime Prevention in communities along border areas, especially in
the face of the UNMIL drawdown.

According to the BIN Commander, the exercise will begin on Wednesday, August 26, in Sarbo Geeken and will continue every Wednesday which happens to be the general market day in the county.

Wa-Sieh indicated that the BIN Border Patrol Unit at Nyaaken has started holding meetings with elders of that community on crime prevention and control, and called on the management of Radio Gee to support the initiative by giving it the needed media coverage.

Meanwhile, the Program Director of the station, David Bardy, has assured the radio station’s commitment to assist the BIN, noting that “the protection of our borders is key to our general wellbeing.”
