Postal Minister Lauds EU Over ICT Development In Liberia

By Jeraldine M. Gbaa, Intern

MONROVIA, August 25 (LINA) – Post and Telecommunications Minister Dr. Frederick Norkeh has praised the European Union (EU) for its immense contribution to the development of Liberia’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

Norkeh said through EU’s assistance, the ministry has developed an internet exchange point which will enable the nation to operate on a single electronic platform.

Speaking Tuesday at the Ministry of Information regular press conference, Norkeh noted that the program is “a marvelous achievement” for the country, being one of 10 African nations with such technology.

‘’We must be thankful to the EU for their contribution towards our ICT development,’’ said Minister Norkeh.

Meanwhile, Minister Norkeh has urged the public to take advantage of the many services and achievements made by the ministry.

According to Norkeh, the ministry has done many good jobs aimed at improving technology in the country, but its achievement has gone unnoticed by the public.
