Browne Stresses Collective Efforts To Reform Education System

By Hilary Vasco Wiagbe, LINA

MONROVIA, August 20 (LINA) -Information Minister Lewis Brown says it requires the collective efforts of the three branches of Government to tackle constrains confronting the education system.

Brown believes that when all functionaries of government work together the hurdles in the system will be removed, creating the enabling environment to ensure that the young people acquire sound education to benefit Liberia.

The Information Minister spoke Thursday when he appeared before the House of Representatives in continuation of deliberations on a complaint by Montserrado Representative Solomon George that the Minister recently made public statements tantamount to disrespect for the lawmakers.

They also wanted Browne to clarify his recent pronouncement that the decision to close schools to ensure reforms of the education system was a “government decision”, because this ‘decision’ did not meet the House’s input.

However, after two days of heated deliberations, the House on Thursday pardoned Minister Brown, telling him to “go and sin no more”.
