Bomi COS Head Expresses Frustration Over CDF, SDF Breach
By David Pamas Seedee, LINA Bomi County Correspondent
TUBMANBURG, August 19 (LINA) –Bomi County Civil Society chair Boima Sando has expressed frustration over the breach of the law governing the use of the County Development Fund (CDF) and the Social Development Fund (SDF) by the county administration and the Legislative Caucus.
Sando said since the enactment of the CDF and the SDF laws, there has been no resolution by the County Council as provided in the act that governs the management and use of these funds.
Sando made the comment in an interview with the Liberia News Agency in Tubmanburg Tuesday.
He observed that from the days of the former chair of the Sitting Senator Lahai Lasanna to the present County Council chair Senator Morris Saytumah, the county has always passed what he called "Special Resolution", adding “The So-called special resolution is in violation of the CDF and SDF Act.”
According to him, such act on the part of the Caucus is intended to deny the stakeholders including members of civil society organizations, the chance to make inputs during the County Council Sitting.
He vowed to resist the continuous passage of the Caucus’ special resolution through the court, if the need arises.
When contacted, Bomi County Superintendent Samuel Brown confirmed the formulation of such resolution, especially during the tenure of Senator Lasanna but noted that this has been abolished.
Brown said the county administration supports the formation of a County Council Sitting Resolution that has the inputs of all stakeholders of the county.
