Nigerian Arrested With Cocaine In Ganta
By Wellington G. Patrick, LINA Nimba County Correspondent

SANNIQUELLIE, August 17 (LINA) - Nimba County detachment of the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) has arrested a 32-year-old Nigerian, Paul Onenyi Ikegbunam, with 315.1 grams of cocaine valued at over US$7,000 in Ganta City, Nimba County.

DEA County Commander Col. Julius Kanubah told the Liberia News Agency Sunday that Ikegbunam was arrested last Friday at the Loguatou border in Nimba while attempting to smuggle the dangerous substance into Liberia.

Kanubah said Ikegbunam sealed the drug in his goods in transit from Nigeria to Liberia for alleged business purpose.

The DEA local official said the suspect has been detained at the Ganta police headquarters pending further security investigation after which he will be turned over to the Ganta Magisterial Court for prosecution.

He urged security personnel at various entry points across the country to be tactical on foreigners entering the borders.
