Cape Mount Attorney Wants Competent Jurors
By D. Ignatius Roberts, LINA Grand Cape Mount County Correspondent

ROBERTSPORT, August 13 (LINA) – Grand Cape Mount County Attorney Abraham Simpson has called on court administrators in the county to select competent citizens to serve as jurors.

Making the call at the formal opening of the August Term of the 5th Judicial Circuit Court in Robertsport recently, Simpson urged courts to refrain from selecting people who cannot read and write to serve as jurors.

“If competent and capable people are selected by the courts to serve as jurors it will help the courts dispense justice in a fair, free and transparent manner,” the County Attorney emphasized.

He observed that over the years most jurors that have been selected to serve on jury cases were unable to read and write, noting that if not curtailed this will bring the entire court system into disrepute.
