Accused Pleads ‘Not Guilty’ To Kidnapping, Rape
By Emmanuel Mondaye, LINA Gbarpolu County Correspondent

BOPOLU, August 12 (LINA) –The Chief Maintenance Officer of the Chief Jallah Leone Medical Center in Gbarpolu County has pleaded not guilty to charges of rape and kidnapping of a 12-year-old girl in New Bopolu on August 4.

John Koloko made his first appearance before Presiding Magistrate J. Zinnah Walters at the Bopolu Magisterial Court Tuesday since police arrested him for allegedly kidnapping and raping the girl based on a complaint filed by the victim’s mother.

In her complaint, the mother alleged that Koloko kidnapped and raped her daughter, prompting the police to take the girl to the Chief Jallah Leone Medical Center where she was examined. The test results confirmed the mother’s allegation.

Upon appearing in court, Koloko was acquainted with his rights, including the right to remain silent, after which he pleaded not guilty to the charges.
