Judge Calls For Rotation of Magistrates
By John N. Bropleh, LINA

HARPER, August 11 (LINA) -The Presiding Judge of the Fourth Judicial Circuit Court in Harper, Maryland County, Nelson Togba, has called for the rotation of Magistrates throughout the country.

Judge Togba said this will enhance the rule of law and also enable judicial actors to effectively dispense justice to the people.

The Fourth Judicial Circuit Judge made the call Monday in Harper in his charge during the formal opening of the August Term of the Court.

He admonished jurors to perform their duties without fear or favor as they contribute their quota to service to their country.

The court opened with 17 cases on the docket - nine criminal and eight civil.

In remarks during the ceremony, Harper Central Prison Superintendent Nelson Doe highlighted the deplorable condition of the prison.

He said the prison lacks water and electricity which, he noted, poses hazards to inmates and called on the authorities to intervene and improve conditions at the prison.
