VOINJAMA, August 7 (LINA) - The Principal of Kpakolomai Elementary and Junior High School in Voinjama District, Lofa County, Madam Jestina Kpalaga, has blamed the poor performance of students in public exams to the lack of solid childhood foundation.
Madam Kpalaga observed that in order for young children to take their education seriously teachers must create a conducive learning
environment that will motivate them in the classroom, especially at an early age.
The Kpakolomai school principal made the observation Thursday when she served as guest speaker at the 36th Gala Anniversary of Bortorsu
Elementary and Junior High School in Voinjama District.
She pointed out that the foundation for quality education is based on motivation and passion, and called on school authorities to ensure
that these attributes are exhibited by them at all times.
The Liberian educator is at the same time calling on the Ministry of Education to prioritize childhood education in order to improve the performance of students, especially in public tests by providing subsidy to private learning schools across the country.
She also urged parents and guardians to monitor their children’s work on a daily basis and encourage them to take their lessons seriously, if they are to serve as future leaders of the country.
