Lake Piso Park Custodian Lauds Citizens For Adhering To Deforestation Policies
By D. Ignatius Roberts, LINA Grand Cape Mount County Correspondent

ROBERTSPORT, August 6 (LINA) - The Chief Park Warden of Lake Piso Multiple Use Reserve of the Forestry Development Authority (FDA) in Grand Cape Mount County, has commended citizens of the county for promoting and adhering to government’s deforestation policies.

Steven Miapeh made the commendation on Thursday in Robertsport when he served as guest on a local radio talk show in the provincial capital Robertsport.

He said the promotion and protection of deforestation policies is the responsibility of every Liberian, and not the government alone.

Miapeh noted that protecting forests from unwanted encroachment by farmers will help to protect homes against heavy storms and winds.

Meanwhile, the Liberian forester has assured that FDA will continue to work with the locals to avoid the killing of preserved animals in reserved forests for the benefit of the generations to come.
