Tallah Commissioner Decries Lack Of Safe Drinking Water In The Area

ROBERTSPORT, August 6 (LINA) - The Commissioner of the Township of Tallah in Commonwealth District, Grand Cape Mount County, Jane White, has said the lack of safe drinking and modern toilet facilities are major problems facing the people of the district.

In an interview with the Liberia News Agency in the district recently, Commissioner White said the lack of safe drinking water and toilets is making life unbearable for the citizens as they depend on creeks for drinking water and nearby bushes for defecation.

Meanwhile, Commissioner White has told LINA that the only community town hall in the area is in a deplorable condition. He is accordingly calling on the relevant government agencies and partners to intervene and rehabilitate the town hall, the only structure used for different programs.

He said if nothing is done to resolve the water and toilet needs of the people of Tallah Town they stand a high risk of experiencing outbreaks of diseases such as diarrhea and running stomach, among others.
