Pres. Sirleaf Orders Release Of Three Prisoners

MONROVIA, July 30 (LINA) - President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has instructed the Superintendent of Sinoe County, Roosevelt Quiah, to work with authorities of the Greenville Prison to release three persons serving terms at the prison.

Those ordered released are Amos Tarpeh,47, convicted for arson and has been serving a sentence since June 28, 2013 and David Tarpeh, 68, guilty of the same offence and has been serving his sentence during the same period.

The only female, Baby Girl Togba, 25, was found guilty of assault and had served two years of her sentence.

The Liberian leader gave the directive while in Greenville, Sinoe County attending the 168thIndependence Anniversary celebration jointly hosted by that country and Grand Kru County.  

“Mr. Superintendent, you will please ensure that these three persons are released from prison with the advice to them that we expect them now to be good citizens, to abide by the law and ensure that they do not get into acts that would lead them back into a situation that we have just freed them,” she directed.
