‘Use July 26 Celebration As Motivation To Unite’ - Lawmaker
By D. Ignatius Roberts, Grand Cape Mount County Correspondent

ROBERTSPORT, July 28 (LINA) - Grand Cape Mount County District # 3 Representative, Emerson Kamara , has called on the citizens to use this year’s July 26 celebration as an impetus to unite and reconstruct the district.

Kamara made the statement on Monday in Gola Konneh during an inter-district queen contest grouping Tewor, Gola Konneh and Porkpa districts as part of festivities marking the 168thIndependence Day celebration.

He said the contest, which was won by Fatumatta Mabande of Tewor District, is to help unite the people and promote development initiatives in the districts.

The lawmaker said it will be difficult for the county to achieve its development agenda when the citizens are divided by tribal, political and religious affiliation, and advised them to set aside those differences for the common good.

“As we are celebrating the country’s Independence Day, the citizens should engage in activities that will also promote peace, unity, reconciliation and development,” Kamara stressed.
